About the Author: M.A. Koontz
I've lived in the Midwest my entire life (Indiana and Illinois), and found it to be the perfect place to raise two, now adult children. My husband and I are fiercely proud of them, along with their spouses and our adorable granddaughters. Family is very important to me.
My education includes a bachelor's degree in social work from The University of St. Francis in Indiana, and a master's degree in social work from Aurora University in Illinois. After taking writing courses, I enjoyed writing children's short stories for a newspaper in the Chicago suburbs. Later, I wrote short stories and articles for magazines as well.
After retiring from social work, I wrote two Darla Kelly books, SHARDS OF TRUST, and THE CRY BEYOND THE DOOR. Currently, I am working on a third, but it remains untitled at this point.
It was during the pandemic that I began to write with my granddaughter, Hailey Landreth. Together, we co-wrote MAYBE, JUST MAYBE and SOMETHING'S STRANGE AT CAMP WONDER WOODS. It has been a memorable and cherished experience, especially watching her talents blossom. There is a third children's chapter book in the works as well.
I would love to hear from you, so please feel free to contact me. There is a link to my contact page below.
